William Lewis Sands

William Lewis Sands, 81, of California, KY passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Maryville, TN on February 18, 2026. Bill was born on May 6, 1944, to his parents Claude and Janie Hazel (Breeden) Sands. He spent many years as a factory worker. He loved hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband and father. He loved all his family and would always say “I love everyone, always and forever”. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; John Sands, Harrison Sands, James Sands and Roy Sands, sisters; Juanita Stewart, Trula Wilburn, Betty Christopher, Martina Cogburn, Geraldine Ogle and Dorothy French.

He is survived by his wife Loretta Sands, daughters; Emily Sands, Sherry (Lou)Burke, Cheryl (Dwayne) Shelton and Rebecca (Shawn) Goshorn, a brother Leo Sands and 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
